Total nonsense.

Unfortunately, the stigma of mental illness is alive and well. Many still believe that if you have a mental illness it’s your own doing; you’re not thinking correctly or you’re not positive enough. Or you’re ALLOWING circumstances to affect you too much. “After all, we all have problems.”

Mental illness can be as debilitating as any type of injury to the body. Problem is, if people don’t SEE it, they don’t believe it.

This will all change in the future as science begins to understand, more thoroughly, how the brain works and what causes it to not work correctly.
