Grieving to our friends and family by leaning into our grief is how we go through it. If we do not, we get stuck…which is not healthy. God has given us life and wants us to live it fully. Even in the most painful of times. He is always with us.
The sun comes up and then it sets, what we do in between is up to us. If we stay stuck in grief, we stunt our lives, we do not grow or flourish as God has intended. We find a “new normal”. We rework our lives and it is for the good.
I remember when I turned a corner. It was morning, I woke to see the sun squeezing between the tightly closed blinds, there was a bird outside singing. The first thought that came to me in that instant was “I am going to be OK.”
So, that was the long way around the block to answer your question which is: Yes, we must move on after a death taking the memory of them with us.
